The team provide a variety of training opportunities for wedding venues and suppliers to upskill in areas such as:

CEO and founder, Ciara Crossan actively participates in and plans bespoke training days for hotel teams or hotel groups looking to improve their abilities in a variety of ways. Training days in partnership with Maxima Training are also scheduled regularly to provide industry professionals with highly focused sales and marketing training. Maxima training sessions are typically held over the course of a whole day and cover a variety of in-depth topics such as:

  • Attracting wedding sales through social media marketing
  • Understanding current trends
  • Maximising sales conversions from a wedding show

Mystery Shopping

Mystery shopping can be arranged with a member of the company to provide helpful insights and information to venues looking to improve their services. Mystery shops can be undertaken on the following:

  • Wedding enquiry experience
  • Show Rounds
  • Wedding Fairs
  • Website and social media marketing analysis
  • Overall customer service

Wedding Fairs

Team members are available to attend, co-host or provide live social media coverage of your wedding fair on the day. As these events do take some planning and may require travel, it’s best to get in touch well in advance to discuss the details and book their time for the event.

The Sales Team

Niamh Hester -

Well-versed in the hospitality industry, Niamh has garnered valuable insight and expertise through roles on the pre-opening team for The Kingsley Hotel, as Wedding and Events Coordinator at Fota Island Resort and as Meeting and Events Sales Manager at the Clayton Hotel Cork City.

At WeddingDates, she oversees 750 UK and Irish venues as Account Manager as well as generating new business for the company. In addition to her busy role, Niamh has recently undertaken voluntarily committee positions on Marketing Institute of Ireland Cork Branch and Network Cork as Social Media Executive.

Niamh’s strengths lie in venue training, sales and marketing techniques and revenue reporting.

Oskar Gilchrist-Grodnicki -

Oskar is an industry specialist that lives and breathes weddings. Most recently, Oskar managed over 130 weddings across two luxury city centre venues in Edinburgh. There, he provided mentoring, training and advice to a group of nine Wedding Coordinators across the Principal Hotel Company portfolio as their Wedding Sales Training Guru.

His skills and charisma have brought him numerous industry and consumer feedback driven awards and nominations. Oskar aspires to put industry professionals into the couples’ shoes to ensure that the strategies they implement are in line with couples’ desires, passions or concerns.

Oskars strengths lie in effective social media marketing, venue training and consultation.

Tanya Hedley -

Tanya is a former lawyer who retrained in Wedding & Event Management. Before joining WeddingDates she worked at Newcastle’s iconic and independent Vermont Hotel (AA-rated four stars).

An accomplished sales person and utterly devoted to weddings, Tanya would guide her couples “from first visit to first dance” to give them a flawless experience. This unrelenting commitment was a winning formula, quite literally – under Tanya’s management the team won Wedding Co-ordinator of the Year in the North of England Wedding Awards three years running (voted by wedding couples and judged by a panel of industry professionals and mystery shoppers).

Tanya’s strength lies in venue training and consultation.
